Richard J. Beehler, 65, of Lincoln Way East, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 2:14 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, in Saint Joseph Regional Me-dical Center, South Bend, Ind. Richard was born on Dec. 17, 1934, in Elkhart, Ind., to Herman and Catherine (Horn) Beehler, who have both preceded him in death.

He retired as a machinist from the CTS Corporation, Elkhart. Richard loved gardening, woodworking and crafts, working on puzzles, and his elephant collectibles.

On Aug. 1, 1953, in Elkhart, Richard J. Beehler married Joyce L. Brown, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Cathy L. (John) Mullins of Elkhart and Brenda S. (Gerry) Petzke of Walkerton, Ind.; two sons, Edward A. (Debi) Beehler of Mishawaka and Richard J. Beehler, Jr., of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren, Lucas C. Williams, Jennifer R. Beehler, Janine L. Beehler, Edward Allen Beehler, Jr., Richard T. Horlander, Kimberly L. Petzke and Kealie D. Petzke; two great-grandchildren, Lexis A. Williams and Mia S. Williams; and by three sisters, Betty Swinehart and Patricia Hasty, both of Elkhart, and Lois Helt of LaPorte, Ind.

Services were at noon on Thursday, March 23, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka. Rev. Adolph Lacy officiated. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia Society of America, Indiana Chapter, 921 East 86th Street, Suite 205, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
