George E. Beehler, 78, formerly of Ash Road in Osceola, Ind., residing at 17411 Starlight Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, in Elkhart General Hospital where he was admitted 17 days ago. Mr. Beehler was born on Oct. 14, 1923, in Goshen, Ind., to John and Ethel (Zentz) Beehler. He had lived in the area all his life. Mr. Beehler married Thelma M. Neff on March 26, 1949, in Dunlap, Ind. She preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 2000.
Mr. Beehler was a 1943 graduate of Concord High School. He retired from CTS Corporation in Elkhart, Ind., and farming. He served on the USS Spica in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Beehler is survived by his son, Edward (Sue) Beehler of Goshen; three daughters, Mrs. Ron (Marilyn) Havens of South Bend, Mrs. Joe (Sharon) Reynolds of Porter, Ind., and Mrs. David (Gail) Anglemyer of Osceola; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Devon (Pat) Beehler and Leonard (Lillian) Beehler, both of Elkhart; and by a sister, Mrs. Phil (Verna) Crussemyer of Elkhart.
Visitation for Mr. Beehler will be on Monday, Nov. 25, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa, Ind., and from one hour prior to the funeral services in Calvary Assembly of God, Elkhart, on Tuesday, with the funeral starting at 10 a.m. The Rev. Jim Williams of Calvary Assembly of God will officiate the services. Burial will be at Olive West Cemetery in Wakarusa. Mr. Beehler was a member of Calvary Assembly of God and was an avid fan of the Penn Kingsman. There will be a military graveside rite performed by the Nappanee American Legion.
