WAKARUSA -- Charles A. Beehler Jr.,
86, of Osborne Road, died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 23, 2004) in
St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend. He was born
April 21, 1918, in Wakarusa to Elsie (Schalliol) and
Charles A. Beehler Sr.
He married Virginia Battles on Sept. 28,
1940. She survives, along with two sons, Jim (Genie) Beehler of
South Bend and Alan (Sherry) Beehler of Wakarusa; a daughter, Pat
(Paul) Hubbard of Wakarusa; 10 grandchildren; and 14
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister,
Charlotte Roeder.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Friday at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Lienhart Funeral Home, 311 S. Main
St., Goshen, and one hour prior to Saturday's 11 a.m. services at
Zion United Church of Christ, Wakarusa. The Rev. Dale Speckman
will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Mr. Beehler, a 1936 graduate of Madison High
School, was a farmer for more than 50 years. He also worked at
the former Wyatt Trading Co.
He was a member of Zion United Church of
Christ, where he was a past board president. He was a former
coach of the national champion dairy judging team and was a
member of the Madison Township Lions Club, where he was a past
treasurer and very active in the eyeglasses recycling program.
Memorials may be given to the church or the Madison Township
Lions Club.
