Crash Claims Life of L.V.Beebe"
LAWRENCE
V. BEEBE, 45, of Farmington, N.M., formerly of SOuth Bend, died Wednesday in
Silverton, Colo., when the car he was driving went over a 500-foot cliff on the
Molas Pass, four miles south of Silverton, Colo., about 100 miles from
Farmington.
Colorado
State said the accident remains under investigation. Authorities said
BEEBE was alone in the car when the accident occurred about noon
Wednesday.
An
autopsy to determine the exact cause of BEEBE's death was being performed
today.
BEEBE
was employed with Interstate Brands Bakery as a sales
manager.
He
was born June 16, 1936 in Plymouth and lived in the South Bend area for many
years. On June 23, 1962, in Colorado he married HAZEL PEDEN, who survives
with a daughter, VIVIAN of New Mexico; a son, LAWRENCE VIVIAN BEEBE, JR. at
home; five sister, Mrs. JOHN (MILDRED) BYBEE, Mrs. PAUL (BARBARA) MARVIN , Mrs.
ORVILLE (PATRICIA) WOODCOX, all of South Bend and Mrs. KENNETH (MARGERY) CARTER,
of Missouri, and Mrs. RAY (LAURA) DENNIS, of Colorado; and his mother, Mrs.
EUGENIA GWILT of Dowagiac.
A sister
preceded him in death.
Services
will be Saturday in the Hood Funeral Home in Durango, Colo. Graveside
service is scheduled at Greenmount Cemetery, Durango at 3 p.m.
Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart
Fund.
