Edna Marie Beckner, 87, of Portage Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, in Memorial Hospital. She was born on Oct. 26, 1913, in Rushville, Ind.

She was married to Sanford Beckner who preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Robert Kochmar and his wife, Ruth, of Edwardsburg, Mich.; four grandchildren, Mark Kochmar and his wife, Cheryl of South Bend, Michele Papandria and her husband, Joseph of Brownsburg, Ind., Jeff Bunton of South Bend, and Linda Helmick and her husband Charles of Virginia; and by six great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Mark, Kayleigh, Kyle, Zachary and Lauren. Mrs. Beckner was a homemaker. She loved gardening and she loved her dog.

Services for Mrs. Beckner will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the donors choice.
