Donald F. Bechtold

Donald F. Bechtold, 77, of State Road 23, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 4:19 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Donald was born on Feb. 6, 1923, in Logansport, Ind., to George and Bertha Bechtold, who preceded him in death.

On Oct. 9, 1948, in Mishawaka, Ind., he married the former Anna K. Wise, who survives. He is also survived by a son, Kenneth F. Bechtold of Cape Coral, Fla.; and a grandson, Kenneth F. Bechtold of Cape Coral; his sister, Clara Kelley of Niles, Mich.; and by a brother, Gilbert Bechtold of Nevada.

Mr. Bechtold was a tool grinder at the Bendix/Allied Signal Corporation, retiring in 1989. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #360. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge of South Bend.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main St., Mishawaka. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
