Flossie Mae (Smith) Baumgartner, 94, of Kenilworth Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away Saturday afternoon, Oct. 16, in her home. She was born on May 27, 1910, in Kalamazoo, Mich. On

Aug. 15, 1927, in Wakarusa, Ind., she married Landon L. Smith, who preceded her in death in 1969. In 1974, she married John C. Baumgartner, also deceased. Besides her husbands, she lost her son, Gordon H. Smith; and a granddaughter. She is survived by sons, Landon L. Smith Jr. of Layton, Utah, and Russell L. Smith of Knox, Ind.; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and by one sister, Helen Thornton of Seabring, Fla. Mrs. Baumgartner was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church, the St. Theresa Society and the Michiana Travel Club.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Internment will be at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call today, Oct. 18, from 4 to 6 p.m. and one hour prior to services Tuesday in the funeral home. A prayer service will take place at 4 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chapin Street Clinic or to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
