Mr. Robert E. Batz, 82, residing on
South Edison Avenue, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 5:05 a.m.
on Wednesday, Feb. 18, in Hospice House. Mr. Batz was a
millwright for the Studebaker Corporation for 21 years, and was
also employed with the Bendix Corporation and the Clark Equipment
Company. Born on Sept. 5, 1915, in Rochester, Ind., he had lived
in this area all of his life.
On June 14, 1942, in South Bend, he married
June Steele, who survives. He is also survived by a son,
David L. Batz of South Bend; three grandsons, Charles Russell
Batz, Damon Batz and Eben Batz; one great-grandson, Spencer; and
by a brother, Charles Maxwell Batz of Arizona.
Services for Mr. Batz will be at 10 a.m. on
Friday in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue. Rev.
Dr. Alva Hohl, Jr., pastor of the Zion United Church of Christ,
will officiate. Burial will follow at Sycamore Memorial Cemetery.
