Majella Batz

South Bend, IN - Majella "June" Batz, 79 years old, residing at St. Joseph Care Center West in South Bend, formerly of 834 S. Edison Street, South Bend, passed away at 9:15 P.M. on Thursday, May 31, 2001, at the care center. Mrs. Batz was a homemaker, born on February 1, 1922, in South Bend, to the late Ira Stanton and Ethel Kime. She has been a lifelong area resident.

On June 14, 1942, in South Bend, as June Steele, she married Robert E. Batz, who preceded in death on February 18, 1998. One sister, JoAnn Shindledecker, and one brother, Herbert Schott, both preceded in death in 1997. Survivors include one son, David L. Batz of South Bend; three grandsons; one great-grandson; and three half brothers, Larry Stanton, Michael Stanton and Dale Stanton.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, June 4, 2001, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN. Rev Greg D. Crump, pastor of Southside Church of God, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Sycamore Memorial Cemetery, Mentone, IN. Friends may visit the family two hours prior to services at the Palmer Funeral Home on Monday.
