GRANGER - Jeanette O. Batson, 87, passed away in her home
on the evening of Thursday, September 4, 2008. Jeanette was born
on December 31, 1920, in Culver, IN, to Milton and Millie (Gelbaugh)
Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents. On
September 22, 1940, in South Bend, as the former Jeanette
Robinson, she married Clifford Batson, who preceded her in death
on October 4, 2003. Surviving are two daughters, Noralee J. (Ray)
Showers of Glendale, AZ, and Stella "Jean"
Batson of Mishawaka; four sons, Terry C. (Ann) Batson of Granger,
Ronald M. (Carol) Batson of Mishawaka, Allan E. (Sharon) Batson
of Edwardsburg, MI, and Bruce W. Batson of Elkhart, IN; 12
grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe E.
Robinson of Miami Lakes, FL; many nieces and nephews. Jeanette
was a member of Harris Prairie Church of Christ in Granger, was
president of Parents and Friends, and was a member of Good Sam's
Club (a camping club). She was also very active with the Logan
Center. Jeannette was a very special woman who instilled in her
children a loving sense of family. Friends may call from 6 to 8
p.m. on Monday, September 8th, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W.
8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
on Tuesday, September 9th, in Harris Prairie Church of Christ,
Granger, with Rev. Ed Erskin and Rev Robert Wiley officiating.
Friends may also call one hour prior to the
services on Tuesday in the church. Burial will follow at
Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be
made to Harris Prairie Church of Christ, 14719 State Road 23,
Granger, IN 46530; or to The Center for Hospice and Palliative
Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
