Clifford C. Batson, 87, of Currant Road, Granger, Ind., passed away after an illness at 11:20 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, in his residence. Clifford was born on Feb. 1, 1916, in De Mont, Ind., as the son of the late Jess W. and Mary Jane (Frame) Batson.
On Sept. 22, 1940, in South Bend, Ind., Clifford married the former Jeanette Robinson, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Noralee J. (Ray) Showers of Glendale, Ariz., and Stella "Jean" Batson of Mishawaka, Ind.; four sons, Terry C. (Ann) Batson of Granger, Ronald M. (Carol) Batson of Mishawaka, Allan E. (Sharon) Batson of Edwardsburg, Mich., and Bruce W. Batson of Elkhart, Ind.; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen M. Gerencser of Mishawaka; and by a brother, Fred L. Batson of Niles, Mich. Mr. Batson was the owner and operator of Cliff's Body Shop until his retirement in 1978. Clifford was a member of Harris Prairie Church of Christ in Granger, and was a member of Good Sam's Club.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, in the Harris Prairie Church of Christ, Granger, with Rev. Ed Erskin and Rev. Bill Loft officiating. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the church. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend.
