William S. T. Bassett
   William S. R. Bassett, a retired rural mail carrier, of 2721 Mishawaka Avenue, died at 7 a.m. today in his residence. He was born in st. Joseph County Nov. 14, 1865, and was a member of a pioneer family here. He was an active member of First Baptist church, having served on several committees and boards in the church. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Russell Harter, South Bend, and Mrs. Charles Worhen, Las Vegas, N.M. Friends may call in the Hollis chapel after noon Thursday until funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist church. Rev. George Dick, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Riverview cemetery.
