SOUTH BEND - Evelyn R. Basham, 76, of North O'Brien Street, died at 10 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Basham was employed by Avis Rent A Car for 15 years. She was born March 16, 1919, in Kendallville and lived in South Bend since 1978.

She is survived by a son, Richard Caldwell of Mishawaka; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dotty Maahs of South Bend and Jackie Feldheiser of Fort Wayne; and a brother, Earl Long of Fort Wayne. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 9820 and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 39.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may call two hours before services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. (nf)
