MISHAWAKA - Robert L. Barton, 74, of Mishawaka, passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2008, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Mr. Barton and his twin brother, Richard, were born on April 7, 1934, in South Bend, to the late Frank and Gladys (McKee) Barton. He remained a lifelong resident. Mr. Barton is survived by his twin brother, Richard (Patricia) Barton of Osceola; several nieces and nephews, Larry (Brenda) Barton, Ron (Ruth) Barton, Paula Slack, Kenneth Barton and Bradley (Dawn) Barton. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Lester Barton, Ralph Barton and John Mennix; and by two sisters, Mary Stackman and Louise Rogers. Mr. Barton attended Mishawaka High School and served his country with the United States Army. He retired in 1991 from the Uniroyal Corporation and more recently made many friends at the South Bend Elks.

Per Robert's request, there will be no services or visitation. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, South Bend, and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting with arrangements.
