Agnes Barth

Nov. 4, 1904 – Mar. 7, 1966

Mrs. Agnes Barth, 88, formerly of 228 E. Lawrence St., died at 9:30 p.m. Monday in the Hillview Convalescent Home after an illness of two months.  Mrs. Barth came to Mishawaka in 1904 from Germany, where she was born Jan. 1, 1878.  

 

As Agnes Kuharski, she married Fidelis Barth in South Bend Nov. 4, 1904.  He died March 25, 1911.  Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. George Roggeman and Mrs. Thomas Gleissner, both of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Gertrude Kann, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Frances Kopernik, of South Bend.  Mrs. Barth was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church, the Legion of Mary and Third Order of St. Francis.  Friends may call in the Bubb Funeral Chapel after 7 p.m. today.  Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Monica’s Church.  Rt. Rev. Msgr. Leo A. Hoffmann, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel.  Members of the Mishawaka Firemen’s Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Central Fire Station from where they will go to the funeral chapel in a group.
