GRANGER - Karen Barr, 53, passed away after a courageous battle
with cancer on Friday, May 14, 2010, at 7:50 p.m. Karen was born
on November 23, 1956, in South Bend, to the late William F. Jr.
and Dorothy (Shewman) Albertson. She is survived by a daughter,
Kiley Sheehan of Mishawaka; and two beloved grandchildren,
Madison and Katelyn. She is also survived by two sisters, Sharon
Albertson of Granger and Shirley Albertson of Mishawaka; a
brother, William F. Albertson III; her best friend, Jackie
McKibbin of Prescott Valley, AZ; a niece, Shannon
Albertson-Tavernier of Mishawaka; and a nephew, John Smith of
Granger. Karen was a lifetime area resident and a graduate of
Penn High School. She worked as a cashier in Kroger Store #23.
She was an active member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist
Church, Granger. She will be remembered for her love and
dedication to her grandchildren. A visitation will be held from
12:00-2:00 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2010, in Good Shepherd United
Methodist Church, 51521 Elm Road, Granger. A memorial service
will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 21, in the church, with
Rev. Mike Butler officiating. Online condolences may be sent to
