Louis Barone, 71, of East LaSalle Avenue, died a 8:40p.m. Friday, Sept. 19 at St. Joseph Medical Center.
Louis was born in Clinton, Ind. on Nov. 6, 1925, and had lived in this area most of his life.
On Dec. 26, 1925 in South Bend he married the former Jean Daly, who survives. Louis is also survived by his daughters, Kathy Barone of South Bend, Nancy (Ernest) Galos of South Bend; and by his son, David Barone of South Bend. Louis is also survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Filchak of Mishawaka, and Rose Bella of South Bend; and by a cousin, Edith Manak of South Bend.
He retired in 1987 from A.M. General as purchasing manager. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Louis received a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University, South Bend. He was a member of the first graduating class.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Bubb Funeral Chapel North.
Funeral services will be at noon on Tuesday in the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Ervin Mize. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Grange.
