John Miles Barnhart

OSCEOLA - John Miles Barnhart, 87, of 402 Pierce St., died at 3 a.m. today in Rosewood Terrace, Elkhart. Mr. Barnhart retired in 1972 from Indiana Michigan Power Co. - Twin Branch, Mishawaka, after 20 years of service, and formerly was employed by the New York Central Railroad. He was born July 29, 1907, in Osceola.

On March 10, 1928, in Elkhart, he married Mildred Lucille Schrock. She survives with a daughter, Joan Cook of Elkhart; a son, John J. of Portland, Ore.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Schultz of Elkhart. A daughter, Jacqueline Brundage, died in 1987.

He was a member of Osceola United Methodist Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Warner Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
