Don passed away on Tuesday, May 2, at his home in Graham, Wash. He was born in LaPorte, Ind., on June 14, 1931. He is survived by his wife, Judy; two brothers, Harvey and Richard; two sisters, Marge and Evelyn; and by several nieces and nephews.
He grew up and attended school in South Bend, Ind. After graduation he entered the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1952. His career was in the oil industry and later with convenience stores. He retired as president of Jackpot Food Marts in 1993. In 1982 he joined the Daffodilians and served as president in 1991. He enjoyed the Daffodil Festival work and made many friends throughout the Northwest. He was a classic car buff, and enjoyed working in his garden.
In lieu of services, you are invited to attend an open house in his memory on Saturday, May 13, in the Azalea Gardens Clubhouse, 194th & Meridian, Graham, Wash. Donations may be made to the Daffodil Festival Scholarship Fund or to the American Heart Association. The Mountain View Funeral Home, Tacoma, Wash., is handling arrangements.
