SOUTH BEND - Robert D. Barnes Jr., 64, of Chimes Boulevard, died at 2:20 p.m. Monday in Regency Place. Mr. Barnes retired in 1986 from AlliedSignal as an hourly payroll supervisor after 35 years of service. He was born Oct. 22, 1930, in Mishawaka.

On Aug. 4, 1951, in South Bend, he married Patricia J. Roessler. She died Aug. 5, 1988. He is survived by two daughters, Paula McDonald of South Bend and Jill Stuhldreher of Kalamazoo; and three grandchildren. He was a member of Bendix Management Club, Bendix Senior Management Club, Elks Lodge 235 and Zion United Church of Christ.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc. or the church.
