Aquilla Barnes

Mrs. Aquilla Barnes of East Howard Street passed away at 3:45 a.m. Friday, July 26, in St. Joseph Care Center West. She was born Aug. 8, 1915, in Pine Bluff, Ark., to Dave and Lucy Binns.

On March 16, 1936, as Aquilla Binns, she married Albert Barnes in South Bend. He passed away September 1982. Mrs. Barnes is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ersaline Davis of South Bend and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a faithful member of Grace A.M.E. Zion Church and a former member of its Service Guild. She was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.

Services will be on Tuesday, July 30th at Grace A.M.E. Zion Church at 1 p.m. There will be visitation for friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Clark Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
