Richard
"Whitey" Barhydt Sr.
Services for
Richard "Whitey" Barhydt Sr., 83, of 14223 Day Road,
who died about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in his home following an
illness, will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Bubb Funeral Chapel. Burial
will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may
call from 6 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial
contributions may be made to St. Joseph County Hospice Society.
Mr. Barhydt was
born Feb. 10, 1902, in Kendallville, and had lived in Mishawaka
since 1918, having come from Kendallville. He worked at the
Uniroyal Inc. plant in Mishawaka for 42 years, retiring in 1964.
On April 2, 1921, in Mishawaka, he married Alice E. Null. She
survives, along with two daughters, Lorene Hoefle of Three Rivers
and Maxine Eberhardt of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two sons, Jack D. and
Joe R., both of Mishawaka; 15 grandchildren; and 26
great-grandchildren. A son, Richard Jr., died May 23, 1983.
He was a charter member of the Michiana Beagle Society.
