Richard Barhydt Jr.
Richard (Bud)
Barhydt Jr., 57, of 14520 Kitsch, died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday at
home after a 13-month illness. Born in Mishawaka on Feb.
13, 1926, he was a lifelong area resident. He retired on
Jan. 1 after 40 years of employment at Uniroyal Inc. On
Jan. 9, 1948, in Mishawaka, he married the former Betty Beghtel,
who survives.
Also surviving are
a daughter, Mrs. Karla John of South Bend; two sons, Kurt and
Kent Barhydt, both of Mishawaka; four grandchildren; two sisters,
Mrs. Elvin (Lorene) Hoefle of Three Rivers and Mrs. Gene (Maxine)
Eberhart of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two brothers, Jack and Joe
Barhydt, both of Mishawaka, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Barhydt Sr. of Mishawaka.
Services will be at
2 p.m. Friday in Twin City Baptist Church. Rev. Michael
Randall, pastor, will officiate, assisted by Rev. Scott Weaver,
pastor of Ireland Road Grace Brethren Church. Burial will
be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call
from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday in the Bubb
Funeral Chapel. A member of Twin City Baptist Church, he
was a veteran of World War II. Memorial contributions may
be made to the Hospice of St. Joseph County.
