SOUTH BEND - Joseph Ronald Barhydt, 84, of Bremen Highway, South
Bend, passed away at his home on Wednesday morning. He was born
in Mishawaka on February 25th, 1928, to Richard and Alice (Null)
Barhydt . He is survived by his seven children, Sherry Claeys of
South Bend, Rae (Jim) VanHaver of Mishawaka, Patricia Welker of
Mishawaka, Judy (Jerry) Czajkowski of Bremen, Mike (Peggy)
Barhydt, David (Amy) Barhydt and Pam (Jim) Ryan, all of
Mishawaka. Also surviving are seventeen grandchildren and several
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Delores, in 2004, and by two sisters and two brothers. Mr.
Barhydt was a Production Worker for Uniroyal for over 40 years
until his retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Army,
serving during World War II. Mr. Barhydt was an avid outdoorsman
who loved hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be held at
10:00 am on Friday at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main
Street, Mishawaka, where friends will be received from 4 until 8
pm today. Officiating the services will be Pastor J. Mark Muncy.
Burial will follow the services Friday at St. Joseph Valley
Memorial Park, Granger. Memorial contributions may be made to the
Center for Hospice.
