SOUTH BEND - Richard W. Bare, 71, of Port Charlotte, Florida,
died January 13, 2010. He was born June 26, 1938, in South Bend,
IN, and moved to this area 10 years ago from Lake Geneva, WI. He
was a graduate of Adams High School and Ball State University.
Mr. Bare retired as financial executive for J.I. Case in Racine,
WI, and Monroe Auto Equipment in Monroe, MI. He was very active
in the Military Heritage & Aviation Museum in Punta Gorda,
Charlotte County Men's Tennis League, and attended St. James
Episcopal Church in Port Charlotte. Mr. Bare served in the Army,
unit USASSDACSI at the Pentagon. Survivors include his wife of 49
years, Judith A.; daughters, Suzanne M. (Jay) Snyder of Geneva,
IL, and Antoinette M. Skidmore of River Forest, IL; sons, Richard
W. (Wendy) Bare, Jr. of Elm Grove, WI, Charles E.W. (Talene) Bare
of Worcester, MA; brothers, Dr. B. Bruce (Bonnie) Bare of
Seattle, WA, and Kenneth E. (Sharon) Bare of East Troy, WI;
sister, Christine L. (Ted) Shank of O'Fallon, MO; and four
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence
and Barbara Bare, and his son-in-law, Michael Skidmore. Memorial
services will be held in Lake Geneva in the spring. Memorial
donations may be made to the Military Heritage & Aviation
Museum, 1200 W. Retta Esplinada, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. Interment
will be private.
