Sister M. Fabiola CSC, 87, of Saint Mary’s Convent died early Monday in the convent after a lengthy illness. Born Clara Martha Barde on June 2, 1893 in Berlin, Germany, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Oct. 25, 1911. She was received as a novice on Aug. 2, 1912 and professed her final vows on Aug. 15, 1914. As a teaching sister she was assigned to St. Mary’s School in South Bend from 1922 to 1924. She later taught in Lancaster, Pa. Idaho, Ohio and Illinois before coming to St. Mary’s Convent in 1958. She is survived by a sister Mrs. Elizabeth Braum of Pflegeheim, West Germany.

Services were to have been at 1:30 today in Our Lady of Loretto with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary’s.
