NEW CARLISLE - Peter A. Banaszak, 80, of Tulip Road, New Carlisle, Ind., died at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, in Miller's Merry Manor, New Carlisle. He was born on Nov. 25, 1916, in South Bend, Ind., and had lived in this area all of his life. Mr. Banaszak retired from the A.M. General Corporation in 1980, was an employee of the former Studebaker Corporation, and was also a retired farmer.
On Nov. 26, 1946, in South Bend, he married Rita Helen M. Moran, who survives. He is also survived by a son, James G. Banaszak of New Carlisle; and by four grandchildren, Nathan Banaszak, Brice Banaszak, Christopher Banaszak and Katie Banaszak. A son, David A. Banaszak, preceded him in death on June 15, 1992.
Mr. Banaszak was a veteran of World War II, was a member of Polish National Alliance Lodge 3078, Terre Coupee, and of American Legion Post 267 in New Carlisle. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home. A Rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
