Virginia Bamber

July 20, 1917-March 25, 1995

SOUTH BEND - Virginia Bamber, 77, of West Angela Boulevard, died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday in Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal after an illness. Mrs. Bamber was a member of the Holy Cross staff at St. Mary's Convent and retired after 24 years.

She was born July 20, 1917, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On July 17, 1939, in South Bend, as Virginia Swartz, she married Louis A. Bamber. He survives with two sisters, Lorraine Swain of Modesto, Calif., and Edna Spike of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County or to Pet Refuge Inc., 2300 W. 6th St., Mishawaka, IN 46544.
