OSCEOLA - Services for Edward S. Balyeat, 77, of 206 N. Erie St., who died at 7:22 p.m. Tuesday in the home of his daughter in Kentwood, Mich., will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Warner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Osceola Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in funeral home.
Mr. Balyeat retired as owner/operator of the former Scotty's Sports Store. He was born July 2, 1918, in Bristol, and lived in Osceola most of his life.
On Oct. 20, 1945, in Osceola, he married Jeannette Proudfit. She died Feb. 4, 1988. He is survived by four daughters, Kathleen Wells of Grand Rapids, Margaret Craven of Portage, Mich., Janet Tower of Kalamazoo, and Janice Balyeat-Hansen of Moline, Mich.; six grandchildren; and a sister, Elinor Albright of Elkhart. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 308.
