Mr. Cecil E. Ball, 97, of 3602 S.
Ironwood Drive, South Bend, Ind., entered into rest on Saturday,
Oct. 24, at St. Paul's Retirement Community, South Bend. Mr. Ball
was a member of Sunny Side Presbyterian Church of South Bend,
Lions International, and the Professional Engineer's Association.
Mr. Ball was a civil engineer and retired from the Chicago Parks
District. Cecil was also a land surveyor and licensed in the
state of Illinois. He was born on June 6, 1901, in Chicago, Ill.,
to John and Alice Ball. On June 6, 1923, in Park Ridge, Ill.,
Cecil was married to Audrey E. Fisher, whom preceded him in death
on Nov. 26, 1989. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. (Wayne)
Dorothy Nelson of Niles, Mich.; a son, Mr. C. Edward Ball
of Michigan City, Ind.; and by six grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at St. Paul's Retirement Community in South Bend with the Rev. Ron Wakeman of Sunny Side Presbyterian Church of South Bend, officiating. Interment will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday in Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Home, 2626 John Beers Road, Stevensville, MI.
