Mary Jane Balint, 81, of South Bend, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, in Regency Place Nursing Home. She was born on May 21, 1919, in South Bend to Claude and Bertha (Ipes) Shellenberger.

On Dec. 16, 1944, she married Danny Balint who preceded her in death in 1976. Also preceding her were her sister, Ruth Bill, and a brother, Jack Shellenberger. She is survived by a sister, Verna Marie Butts; a brother, Carl Shellenberger, both of South Bend; and by six nieces and nephews. Mrs. Balint retired from Uniroyal in Mishawaka after 33 years of service.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 2 p.m. in the WELSHEIMER FUNERAL HOME, 521 N. William St., where friends may call two hours prior to services. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Association.
