Romolo John Baldoni

Mishawaka - A heart attack suffered about 9 o’clock this morning by Romolo Baldoni, aged 61, owner of Baldoni restaurant, 1121 South Spring Street, caused his death a short time later. Mr. Baldoni was in the Snyder Repair Shop, 714 East Grove Street on business when he became ill. He was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in the city ambulance and died a few minutes after his arrival there.

 

Mr. Baldoni, father of Edward Baldoni, assistant chief of the Mishawaka Police department, was born in Maceroni, Italy, Aug. 15, 1885.

 

He was married in that country April 24, 1909, and he and his wife left shortly after for this country. They have lived in Mishawaka since May 1909. He opened his restaurant in 1932.

 

Surviving other than his widow and his son Edward are five daughters, Carolyn and Louise Baldoni, at home, Mrs. Fred Garatoni, Mrs. George Baldini and Mrs Joseph Mercantini, all of Mishawaka, and eight grandchildren.

 

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral Services for Romolo J. Baldoni, aged 64, of 1108 South Spring Street, who died suddenly following a heart attack Wednesday morning, will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday in the DeVos Chapel.

 

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

 

Friends may call at the chapel until the funeral services.

 

Mr. Baldoni, owner of the Baldoni Restaurant, 1121 South Spring Street, was born in Cesna, Italy Aug. 15, 1885, and had lived in Mishawaka since 1909. He was a member of the DeAmici Club.

Pallbearers for Romolo J. Baldoni, aged 64, of 1108 South Spring Street, who died Wednesday, will be Bruno Balestri, August Gasperoni, Ivo Piraccini, Louis and Anthony Condoli and Aurelin Luccki.

 

Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday in the DeVos Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Aurello Frisconi, Louis Minotti, Secondo Ricci, Theodore Vernasco, Alfreado Brioli, Urbano Grilli, Guglielmo Ricci, Leo and Enrico Artusi, Giacomo Luggaresi, and Primo Evangelisi.
