Mishawaka - Canzio R. Baldini, 98, formerly of 208 W. 8th Street, died Monday morning in the Cardinal Nursing Home, South Bend, after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 10, 1883 in Rome, Italy, and moved here 57 years ago from Lehigh, Iowa. He came to America from Italy in 1900. He retired from Uniroyal, after 33 years of employment.
He married Theresa Riva in Terre Haute, Ind. She died in 1977. Surviving area daughter Mrs. Flora Nemeth of Mishawaka; a son Tony of South Bend; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Paul Beuter, pastor of St. Bavo’s Catholic Church will officiate, and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. He was a member of the DeAmicis Club.
