Helen Dwyer Baldinger, 86, of Detroit Road, Niles, formerly of 12134 Hillcrest Drive, died at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Medical Center. Mrs. Baldinger was a former teacher at St, Joseph Grade School.
She was born May 28, 1905 in Sisterville, W. Va., and spent most of her life of South Bend, moving to Niles three years ago.
On Aug. 10, 1929 in Cleveland, as Helen Dwyer, she married Lawrence H. Baldinger. He died Nov. 28, 1970. She is survived by three sons, Charles of Niles, Lawrence Jr. of Brighton, Mich., and James E. of Marietta, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Dwyer of St. Petersburg, Fla. A daughter Margaret M. Almeida died Oct. 26, 1988.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica at the University of Notre Dame, Ladies of Notre Dame and Saint Marys Christ Child Society, and Notre Dame Library Association.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the basilica. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Hickey Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 3 p.m. by the Ladies of Notre Dame.

Services for Helen D. Baldinger, 86, of Detroit Road, Niles, formerly of 1234 Hillcrest Drive, who died at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Basilica at the University of Notre Dame.
Entombment will be at Riverside Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
