(Stanley) Bajdek, 89, who lived with his daughter, Mrs. Mildred
Borowski, of 727 S. Warren, died Wednesday in the home after an
extended illness. Bajdek was a retired cabinetmaker for the
Singer Manufacturing Co. Born on May 8, 1887, in Powlat
Konin, Poland, he moved here from Poland 71 years ago. On November
20, 1911, in South Bend, he married Mary Klosowski, who died on September
20, 1953.
Surviving
besides the daughter are four sons, Jerome, Joseph, Eugene and
Leonard, all of South Bend; two other daughters, Mrs. Ruphine
Kajzer and Mrs. Luella Paczkowski, both of South Bend; 12
grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
Services will be
at 9am Saturday in St Adalberts Catholic Church. Rev.
Eugene J. Kazmierczak, pastor, will officiate. Burial will
be in St Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9pm
today and 2 to 9pm Friday in St Joseph Funeral Home, where a
parish rosary will be recited at 7:30pm today and a parish wake
service will be at 7:30pm Friday. He was an honorary member
of the West Side Democratic and Civic Club and a charter member
of St Stanislaus Society.
