SOUTH BEND - Mary E. Bailey, 90, of Westmoor Street, died at 11:50 p.m. Monday in Northwood Nursing Home after an illness. Mrs. Bailey was born Feb. 2, 1904, in Demopolis, Ala., and lived in South Bend since 1944, coming from Detroit.

In 1944, in South Bend, she married John Bailey Sr. He died in 1968. She is survived by two stepdaughters, Kathryn Johnson and Ernestine Bailey, both of Detroit; two stepsons, John Jr. and Edward, both of South Bend; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call one hour before services on Friday in the church. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, is in charge of arrangements.
