MISHAWAKA - Doris Bailey, 80, passed away after an illness
on Sunday, December 28, 2008, in the Cardinal Nursing & Rehab
Center, South Bend. Doris was born August 24, 1928, in
Centerville, Ohio, as the daughter of Harry and Althea (Thunn)
Stubbs. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, one
sister, Virginia Stubbs, and three brothers, Harry, Walter and
John Stubbs. On June 11, 1951, in Wheaton, IL, as the former
Doris Stubbs, she married Arnold P. Bailey, who survives along
with one daughter, Ruth Bailey of Knox, IN. Doris was a teacher
for Dayton Christian School in Dayton, Ohio, and for South Side
Christian School in Indianapolis, IN, and worked for Federal Home
Loan Bank in Indianapolis for 16 years before her retirement in
1993.
Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 30, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, in the funeral home, with Dr. Bud Steadman of Community Baptist Church officiating. Memorials may be made to Baptist Children Home in Valparaiso, IN.
