Madeline M. Baert, 88, of Rugby Avenue, Evansville, Ind., formerly of Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness in the early morning hours of Sunday, Nov. 29th, in the Core Care Nursing Home Evansville. Mrs. Baert was born on March 6, 1910, in Ruiselede, Belgium, as the daughter of the late Alois and Marie (Van Daele) Taghon. She was preceded in death by a brother.
On Sept. 30, 1933, in Mishawaka, as Madeline Taghon, she married Arthur Baert, who also preceded her in death on June 15, 1984. Mrs. Baert is survived by a son, Ray (Mary Ellen) Baert of Evansville, Ind.; two grandsons, Jeffery Baert of Plano, Texas, and Kenneth Baert of Algonquin, Ill. She also leaves five great-grandchildren, Andrew, Katie, Thomas, Ellen and Kristin Baert.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7th, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home, with Rev. James Shafer officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Baert mat be made to St. Bavo's Catholic Church or to St. Bavo's Catholic School, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
