Sister M. Rose Therese CSC, 79, of
St. Mary’s Convent died Friday evening in the convent, after
a short illness. Born Mary Angela Baden on Oct. 7, 1898 in
Brandywine, Md. she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of
the Holy Cross on Aug. 30, 1924, after coming from Washington DC.
She was received as a novice Aug. 15, 1925 and professed her vows
on Aug. 15, 1927. She was assigned to housekeeping duties and
served as prefect of Holy Cross Hall at St. Mary’s Academy
from 1938 to 1958, She also served as sacristan at St. Joseph
Hospital, South Bend from 1958 to 1968. She has lived at St. Mary‘s
Convent since 1970.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, at St. Mary’s. Friends may call in the convent parlors where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. today.
