Edith (Heckathorn) Babcock, 94, of West Grove Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away following an illness on Tuesday, Dec. 12, in the Muncie Health and Rehabilitation Center, Muncie, Ind. She was born on Nov. 20, 1906, in Berrien County, Mich., to the late William and Mae Heckathorn.

As Edith Bell Heckathorn, she married Raymond W.R. Babcock in Three Oaks, Mich., on June 27, 1925. He also preceded her in death in 1994. She is survived by a daughter, Dorles (William) Jennings of Muncie; a son, Dwight H. (Doris) Babcock of Port Orchard, Wash.; her grandchildren, Brian (Donna) Jennings of Cicero, Ind., Beth (Brian) Welch of Brownsburg, Ind., Carol (John) Richard of Muncie, Laura (Bill) Kepler of Golden, Colo., Michelle (Matt) Dutton of Texas, Leeann (Kermit) Carpenter of Woodstock, Ga., and Christine Babcock of Beaverton, Ore.; and by 11 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Albright United Methodist Church, Mishawaka.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 18, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Galien Cemetery, Galien, Mich. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
