SOUTH BEND - Stephen ''Ruby'' Baba, 67, of Northside Boulevard, died at 12:15 p.m. Monday in his home of natural causes. Mr. Baba retired from the University of Notre Dame. He was born Jan. 18, 1928, in South Bend.

On Aug. 19, 1972, in Niles, he married Estella Ramos. She survives with a daughter, Laura Sue Nora of South Bend; a son, Gregory S. of White Pigeon; three grandchildren; a sister, Julia Jaronik of South Bend; a half sister, Betty Vida of South Bend; and a brother, William Szilagyi of South Bend. He was an Army veteran and a member of United Steelworkers of America.

Private services will take place. Cremation will take place with burial in Highland Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Zahoran Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
