SOUTH BEND - Vera M. Baas, 92, of Venice, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died Tuesday in Florida. Mrs. Baas was a retired secretary. She was born Aug. 3, 1902, in South Bend and lived in Venice four years.
On Aug. 10, 1925, she married William S. Phillips. He died Aug. 28, 1961. On Jan. 1, 1966, she married Richard Baas. He died Feb. 3, 1980. She is survived by a son, Richard E. Phillips of Nokomis, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mervin Lung of Mishawaka; three granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery at a later date. National Cremation Society, Sarasota, Fla., handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
