MISHAWAKA - Ronald K. Avery, 71, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 12:06 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. He was born on March 9, 1939 in North Liberty, IN to George and Sarah (Wolf) Avery. On February 9, 1961 in Woodbury, TN, he married Betty Ann (Doyle) Avery, who survives. Ronald is also survived by three children, Vonda J. Schreiner and her son, Brian Levario of Scottsdale, AZ, Randy R. Avery of Novi, MI and Rodney J. Avery of South Bend, IN; six grandchildren, Ronald K. Avery-Hoffer III, Amber R. Avery-Hoffer, Noah M. Avery-Hoffer, and Kelly Ann Avery-Hoffer, all of North Judson, IN, Tyler J. Avery and Lauren A. Avery, both of South Bend, IN; sisters, Mary Bailey and Rose (Paul) Potts, both of South Bend, IN; brothers, George (Mary Jean) Avery of Pulaski, TN, Charles (Virginia) Avery of South Bend, IN and John (Barbara) Avery of Streamwood, IL; a special daughter in law, Jodi Simms-Avery of South Bend and many nieces and nephews including special nephew, Tim (Corinne) Avery and dearest friends, Dannie and Thelma Hoffer of North Judson, IN. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kelly Ann Avery, son, Ronald K. Avery Jr. on July 14, 2007 and his twin brother, Donald J. Avery on December 12, 2006. Ronald was a lifelong area resident. Ronald retired from Whiteford Kenworth in South Bend in 2000. He was a member of the River of Life Fellowship in Middlebury, IN. Ronald enjoyed camping, fishing and bird watching. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at River of Life Fellowship, 11162 SR 120 Middlebury, IN. Pastor Gordy Henke will officiate. A luncheon will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to the family c/o of Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel 3718 S.
