WALKERTON - Jimmy Dale Austin, 57 passed into God's hands
on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, in St. Joseph Regional Medical
Center, South Bend. Jimmy was born on February 8, 1951, in Marked
Tree, Arkansas to Leonard and Vera (Coons) Austin. He
lived most of his life in the Lakeville-Walkerton area. Jimmy was
an avid NRA member loved woodworking and spending time with his
family. He spent eight years in the United States Marine Corps,
which gave him an opportunity to see many places in the world. He
had many friends and strong ties in his community. He is survived
by his wife of 38 years, Theresa "Terri"; a daughter,
Christina (Roger) Harbaugh of Walkerton; a son, James
(Kristi) Austin of Walkerton; a brother, Jerry (Brenda) Austin of
Walkerton; two sisters, Virginia Ballinger of Mishawaka
and Joan (Craig) Stein of Lakeville; three grandsons, A.J.
Austin, Jimmy Harbaugh, and Kyle Harbaugh; and many nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters
Loretta Kreske and Marty "Katie" Vendola.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Military services and burial will follow in Fair Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home where a Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m.
