South Bend – Thomas J. Augustine Sr., 75, of Las Vegas, formerly of South Bend, died Sunday in Sunrise Hospital, Las Vegas. Mr. Augustine was born March 28, 1918 in South Bend, and lived in South Bend, until moving to Las Vegas 13 years ago. Mr. Augustine retired from Bendix Corporation after 30 years of service in the brake lining division as an assembler.

He is survived by a son Thomas J. Jr. of Sequin, Texas; two grandsons; five sisters, Catherine Neisen of Sequin, Mary Kellams of San Francisco, and Josephine Augustine and Frances Gillespie, both of Kokomo, and Theresa Harman of Plymouth; and three brothers, Dominic and Patrick, both of South Bend, and John of Manhattan Beach, Calif. He was a graduate of Central High School and was a veteran of World War II.

Private services and burial were held today in Woodlawn Cemetery, Las Vegas. Nevada Funeral Services, Las Vegas, handled arrangements.
