NEW CARLISLE - Services for Maxine A. Ash, 80, of Miller's Merry Manor, who died Tuesday in Miller's Merry Manor will be at 11 a.m. CST Thursday in the Weaver Funeral Home, Westville. Burial will be in Westville Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. CST today and an hour before services Thursday in the funeral home.

Mrs. Ash was a self-employed animal groomer. She was born May 31, 1915, in Starke County.

On Aug. 3, 1932 in Crown Point, Ind., she married Vernal G. Ash. He died Nov. 18, 1982. Surviving are three daughters, Phyllis Stephens of Kalamazoo, Charlotte Middleton of Ocala, Fla., and Marilyn Wolford of Chesterton; two sons, Vernal and James, both of LaPorte; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
