MISHAWAKA - Roberta L. Artusi, 85, of Mishawaka, died at
11:05 A.M. Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at her home after a
long-fought battle on dialysis. Roberta was born on October 15,
1921, in Pekin, IL, to the late John and Lillie (Stotzer)
Drockelman.
As Roberta Drockelman, she married Remo "Ray" Artusi on August 7, 1943, in Mishawaka. Remo preceded her in death on April 25, 1985. Surviving Roberta are a son, John L. Artusi of Mishawaka; four grandchildren, Nicole, Kara, John Jr. and Tony; seven great-grandchildren, Michael, Derek, Alexa, Anthony, Abigail, Sean and Allyson. Also surviving are a sister, Pearl Hieser of Pekin, IL; and a brother, Sylvester "Sy" Drockelman of Pekin, IL.
After retirement Roberta enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. The family would like to thank the first shift unit at Edison Lakes Nephrology for taking such great care of her, hoping that all the stories she had for all of you put a smile on your faces. Family will receive friends, today from 3:00 to 7:00 PM in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM in the funeral home, with Rev. Barry England, pastor of St. Bavo's Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, Plymouth Office, 10872 Queen Road, Plymouth, IN 46563.
