Blanche E. (Low) Aronson, 76, of
Holly Court, South Bend, Ind., died after a lengthy illness at
10:20 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical
Center. Blanche was a retired fourth grade teacher in Berwyn,
Ill., for several years, and was an employee of Analytical
Studies in the Dean of Administration Office at Notre Dame for 15
years. Blanche was born on Aug. 27, 1923, to Andrew and Ellen Low,
who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her
first husband, Paul Loreen, and by a son, Baby Craig. She
had lived in South Bend since 1965, coming from Matteson, Ill.
She was married on Aug. 19, 1950, in
Rockford, Ill., to John W. Aronson, who survives. She is also
survived by two sons, Thomas J. Aronson of South Bend and Craig
A. (Mary) Aronson of Garden City, Kan.; and by two grandchildren,
Jamie and Andy. Blanche was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran
Church Choir, Altar Guild, and was active in the worship and
music committee of the church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb.
21, in the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 225 E. Haney, South Bend,
with Rev. Denise M. Grant, pastor, officiating. Burial will
follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery on the Notre Dame campus. Friends
may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 20, in the HICKEY Funeral
Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, and from 10 a.m. until services
Monday in the church. Memorials may be made to Gloria Dei
Lutheran Church, 225 E. Haney, South Bend, IN 46613.
