Michael L. Arndt Jr., 30, of Mishawaka, Ind., died at 12:08 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28, in St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka.
He was born on June 13, 1970, in South Bend, Ind. Mike was a 1988 graduate of Riley High School, and was a utility driver at Dodge. Mike had many interests which included belonging to a dart league, driving in demolition derbies, and he was an avid football fan with Notre Dame being his favorite team. Mike also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and was considered to be a tender-hearted, family-oriented person.
On May 15, 1999, Mike married Jamie Aldrich, who survives. Other survivors include his father, Michael (Marsha) Arndt Sr. of Niles, Mich.; his mother, Debra (Paul) Vitale of South Bend; two sisters, Cheryl Flatt and Angela Vitale, both of South Bend; two brothers, David Arndt and Anthony Vitale, both of South Bend; two stepsisters, Kristina Setterolf of Ft. Knox, Ky., and Laura Bellon of Niles; and a stepbrother, Andrew Bellon of Niles. Mike also has five nieces and five nephews who survive.
Calling for Mike will be held today, Jan. 31, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. A Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. today.
A funeral Mass will be on Thursday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. in St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka.
Memorials in Mike's name may be made to St. Bavo Catholic Church or to the Bishop Crowley Education Fund.
Entombment will be at Highland Cemetery.
