SOUTH BEND — Richard J. Armstrong, 70, of Spring Valley, Calif., formerly of South Bend, died Tuesday in his home of leukemia.

Survivors include two daughters, Margaret L. of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Jennifer E. of Spring Valley; two sons, Jeffrey C. of San Diego, Calif., and James E. of Spring Valley; and three brothers, Philip C. of South Bend, Gregory S. of Fresno, Calif., and Douglas K. of Mishawaka.

Services were held at 9:30 a.m. in Santa Sophia Church, Spring Valley. Featheringill Mortuary, San Diego, is handling arrangements.
